SketchUp PluginsWelcome to the new home for SketchUp plugins developed by Regular Polygon. Hopefully, this new website will keep the content more organized than the old blog on Blogger. The plugins are basically computer programs, written in Ruby, that use the SketchUp Ruby API to extend the functionality of SketchUp. You just put the plugins in your SketchUp plugins folder, and voilĂ . Each plugin is automatically loaded when SketchUp starts, and provides new features to enhance productivity. The plugins are divided into two groups: animation and geometry creation. Animation
Keyframe Animation is a plugin that makes object and camera animation in SketchUp a simple reality. The key frame approach is very intuitive and easy to use, yet very versatile and powerful. Objects are interpolated between their key frame positions by translation or rotation. The animation can even be exported to a movie, directly from SketchUp. There is a free trial too, so you can start using Keyframe Animation today. Geometry Creation
There are several Free Plugins to create geometry that would be more difficult, if not impossible, to construct with the native SketchUp tools. They include various shapes from the simple 2D ellipse to the exotic 3D twisted torus. There are also complex 3D curves, like the loxodrome. And, what makes it even better is, these plugins are all free! |
